Serving the housy, hot dishes to the masses for more than 20 years already, Swedish DJ/Producer StoneBridge doesn't require any seasoning to whatever comes out of his kitchen. Following the successful first and second Volume of 'The Flavour, The Vibe', the summer of 2009 brings the third Volume. Bursting with the strong, sexy house music Stoney Boy flavouring that so many favour, this new compilation is another worthy addendum to the already impressive list of StoneBridge's achievements.
It's been more than 15 years since Stoney's remix of ultimate club classic 'Robin S - Show Me Love' awakened a storm of international success. With gigs all around the globe, setting up his own Stoney Boy label, 2 artist albums, 96 releases and hundreds of remixes, he worked himself up to be the critically acclaimed superstar he is today. StoneBridge has spread his house sounds to every corner of the world and turned them into swinging, house groovin' party places. Same goes for the tracks he put his hands on. The remix he did for Ne-Yo's worldwide hit 'Closer' received a Grammy nomination and didn't only make it to the clubs, but also haunted charts globally. With another artist album in the pipeline, 'The Flavour, The Vibe Volume 3' is the perfect warm up to all the good stuff coming later this year.
StoneBridge came up with the concept for 'The Flavour, The Vibe' about four years ago. StoneBridge: "Since 2005 I've been a mixshow resident of Sirius XM, a satellite radio station based in the US. About the same time I made my first mix album for Stoney Boy/Armada and we decided to call the show and album 'The Flavour The Vibe'. Now, about four years later, the concept is stronger than ever and along with the mixshow, there have been additional live broadcasts on Sirius XM from Miami, New York and Stockholm. During 2009 several launch parties are planned for 'The Flavour, The Vibe Vol. 3' all over the world and regular events further down the line. All of my current and forthcoming releases are represented on this album, so I feel this installment is the best one so far."
The third installment of 'The Flavour, The Vibe' is filled to the brim with groovy, pumping and sexy house with all the right Stoney Boy flavours represented.  Divided into two discs, you'll find 'The Flavour' and 'The Vibe', each telling you a different story and moving you in a different way. StoneBridge: "'The Flavour' has a warmer feel and is meant to be enjoyed while sipping a drink in the sunshine and 'The Vibe' is more of a club set with a lot more energy." Whatever setting you prefer, 'The Flavour, The Vibe Volume 3' has plenty in store for everyone.

Armin van Buuren has managed to gather a stunning range of exclusive tracks for his award winning, annual mix compilation “A State of Trance”. “Armin van Buuren – A State of Trance 2008” is the long expected new album of the awarded sequence, which is now celebrating her lustrum with this fifth edition.

Up so far, the year 2008 has undoubtedly been a great year to Armin van Buuren. Earlier this year, his album ‘Imagine’ entered the chart within a number 1 position, therewith being the first Dutch DJ ever. Imagine’s first single ‘Going Wrong’ has become a worldwide hit and also ended up a top 5 track in the big charts. The DVD registration of the ‘Armin Only : Imagine’ concert that Armin kept in the sold-out Jaarbeurs in Utrecht venue is recently holding the #1 position of the DVD charts for three weeks in a row already.
At the end of 2007 he was chosen number 1 DJ of the world by British dance magazine DJ Mag and won the Dutch ‘Buma Stemra Popprijs’. Besides that, Armin was crowned ‘Best European DJ’ at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami and once again managed to win the award for ‘Best Radio Show’ with his radio show ‘A State of Trance’.

The four previous edition of the ‘A state of Trance’ series were a big success and therefore he chose to continue the successful concept of ASOT 2006 and 2007; CD1 contains the ‘On the Beach’ theme and contains tracks with catchy beats, warm vocals and delicate summer melodies, while CD2 reflects the atmosphere of an Armin performance ‘In The Club’

In a musical career, you’ll have to find the right balance between producing and dj’ing. That particular balance was hard to find for American DJ/Producer Blake Jarrell. He has been heavily touring for the past two years, as his career skyrocketed right after being discovered by Armin van Buuren. His discovery came right in time. Blake had just lost his home in New Orleans by the devastating hurricane Katrina and was forced to adopt Chicago as his now hometown. A double feeling, cause in Chicago Blake got infected by the dance virus. After handing over a demo of his productions to Armin after one of his gigs, he received a phone call by them man himself. If he wanted to be the special guest DJ on Armin’s tour. Ever since, Blake has been playing in more than 90 cities all across the world. From Ibiza to Amsterdam and Buenos Aires to Chicago.

Blake looks back:“In that time I left a lot to be desired from myself in the studio. I missed being able to totally immerse myself in a project without time constraints and artistic boundaries. I missed the learning process and the experimentation in new ideas and techniques. I missed the unbridled spurts of creativity that come pouring out when you don't have the stress of airports and set times.”

In January 2009, he finally had some time off. For more than a month, he found himself working out his idea for an album. But not ‘just’ an artist or mix album. Blake needed something special.“I didn't want to put out just another DJ-mixed compilation. I remembered an album of remixes where each remix was specially designed to fit one another in such a way that it not only makes sense as a traditional DJ-mixed set, but as an intricately customized story. The idea always intrigued me, but it wasn't until now that it dawned on me that I had the perfect set of songs for such a project. I immediately fell in love with the concept and became obsessed with it, locking myself in the studio.”
The results of that inspiring month in the studio can be found on ‘Concentrate 2009’. Focusing on Blake’s remixes and productions, all in perfect balance to one another.  It doesn’t only contain his own tracks, but also a dash of new remixes by Blake. Blake: “Within each remix is also a smaller story. I chose to remix these songs because each of the original versions spoke to me either as a DJ, a producer, or as a person.”

Let Concentrate 2009 tell you a story. One of deep progressive beats, trancy melodies, housy sceneries and indulging side-effects, to find yourself lost into it all within the blink of an eye.
